What are LEAN Long Stock Storage Racks used for?

LEAN Long Stock Racking is purpose-built for vertically storing metal tubing, extrusions, bar stock, rods, pipes, and other lengthy materials using a tiered cartridge system. Tube lasers typically process long-length material, which can be cumbersome to store & handle if proper racking is not in-house.

Can you adjust the distance between divider posts on each long stock cartridge?

Accepted Answer

Yes, these are specifically-engineered systems to provide many incremental positionings. By utilizing a comb, or waffle, pattern, dividers can be re-positioned to best-suite the stock going through your shop at any given time.

How many dividers are included with each long stock storage cartridge?

Accepted Answer

If you’re storing long tubes or extrusions, it depends on volumes & mix. For example, if a company has high volume & low mix orders, not many dividers will be needed. However, if they have low volume & high mix orders, then we’ll need to include many dividers to create the distinction between SKU’s of material. Either way, we’ll work with you to best-fit the systems based on your inventory and business growth plans.

How do you remove cartridges from the long stock rack?

Similar to our Sheet Metal Systems and WIP systems, all cartridges can be removed via forklift.

What if the material is longer than the cartridge?

Accepted Answer

Commonly, long stock in tube, round, or bar format is rather rigid; if that’s the case with your material, it can overhang the cartridge since there is not any left/right enclosure to the rack.

Most commonly, these are built-to-order to make sure we have the best-fit solution for your specific needs. However, we do have standard offerings as well, and can typically offer those on shorter lead times. Just ask, and we’ll present all options.
